Red: Check out my ring, yo. It’s so bling bling.
White: Big deal. Mine is bigger than yours.
And ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you: Our wedding bands. Love ‘em!

100 more days to being more than just friends
June 6, 2008

In about 100 days and 17 hours (as of writing), she will be walking down the aisle filled with flowers thrown by our flower boys to my arms as we take our vows to be husband and wife. In 100 days time, we will no longer be just friends. We will take a path not gone before but one, we are definitely looking forward to.
I can’t wait for the next 100 days to zoom past.
Under this tree, I do

So this is going to be the place where we will exchange our vows:
How we picked the location is purely down to economics. The Fence would have cost us $1,500 in rental. Although it shares the same view as and is directly next to the Lawn (where our dinner will be held), it will cost money simply because it’s surrounded by a pretty, quaint white fence. On the other hand, this cosy little nook under the tree is part of the Lawn and rental charges have been covered in our contract. Therefore, it’s free!
And another reason why I am glad we are holding the dinner in Sentosa, it’s because we can get interesting and unexpected guests like Miss Peacock and Mister Monitor Lizard:

Very rustic, huh?
Ring bowl, checked

Something came in the mail a few weeks back!
Okay, I have been busy with deadlines and photo shoots so it’s only now that I can write about it….

I’m planning to use this to hold our wedding rings during the ceremony. Once the wedding is done and dusted, it’s going on my dresser table to hold my rings. I have a really bad habit of taking off my rings and forgetting where I had left them so this would be a perfect hideout for them.
Kudos to Caroline of Paloma’s Nest for crafting such a lovely, lovely piece of ceramic work. She is friendly and great to work with, and her etsy shop is full of awesomeness. She allows custom orders so go check her shop out!
In other news, my nice cousins have loaned me a variety of pearl necklaces to wear with my wedding dress. I can’t decide which combination works best. Can any kind soul please take a look and help me out? Ignore the feathery mask: I was in no state to face the camera today and relied on my whimsical Acessorize purchase to hide my mug.
Eight and 258
December 31, 2007
Eight years of togetherness. And it was only yesterday that seven seemed to be a long time for us.
No relationship is perfect and neither is ours. But it really depends on how you want to see it – you either focus on the differences or you think about what you have going for the two of you and work on those. I’d like to think that after all these years, we have managed to carve out a balance of compromises and that there would be a lifetime of compromises ahead of us.
I’ve never really been able to articulate why I love him. Sure, he makes me laugh, he has a knack of ignoring my antics, he says the silliest things.
After eight years, I just love him. No questions asked, no disclaimers, no conditions.
It’s not perfect but it’s enough for us.
Just 258 more days to the start of a new life.
……….
2008 should be an interesting year ahead. As Popartgirl says, new job, new husband, new house.
Happy new year, everyone.
